Charlene spent over a decade on a journey of working in various fields, furthering her studies, tutoring underprivileged kids, helping them choose careers based on their preferences, and managing small teams later on in a more corporate environment – She realized that the questions “What career am I suited for?” or “What if I chose a different career path – Would I be more fulfilled today?” still lingered in the hearts of many. This is because people often don’t know their own preferences and thus don’t understand themselves and where they fit into the world. This 13 year journey led her to become an NBI® Practitioner in the hopes of making a greater impact at different stages in people’s lives.
The Neethling Brain Instruments are specifically beneficial to individuals in recruitment where you are dealing with both the client and the candidate. Recruiters have a responsibility to both the client and the candidate in meeting the client’s expectation and pairing the candidate with a career that suits their skillset and interest.
Charlene likes to use the concept of a wine pairing to illustrate the relationship. When you are served the right flavours or spices with your wine pairing, the result is somewhat delicious and you’re likely to buy that specific wine to take home, perhaps even come back for another amazing pairing later on. However, if your pairing leaves a bad taste in your mouth – pun intended – you may have a very different experience altogether and leave with the memory of “that time” you tasted bad wine.
This is much like creating a partnership between the client and the candidate. If you pair the wrong candidate to the client – you might find a clash and disagreement and potentially face losing a client over a mismatch. However, pair the right client and candidate and you have possibly created one of the best synergies the pair have ever had.
With the NBI® Adult and Jobs profiles – we can identify an individual’s unique thinking preference for certain processes, skills, work environments and clearly match that to the jobs they are either suited for or applying for. Being able to give ‘candidate specific’ feedback to the client is also incredibly valuable and helpful in their decision-making process when it comes to appointments. Not to mention a mountain of credibility that is established on the recruiter’s end for really doing the relevant ‘homework’ into the fit.
