As our new and somewhat fragile economy finds its feet, we need to learn quickly and perform at the top of our game if any of us hope to turn this global challenge into a success story – Be it as an Entrepreneur starting a recruitment agency or an experienced Recruitment Team looking to grow rapidly and get back to their previous numbers quickly.
If you want to start a Recruitment Agency in South Africa, you need to first ensure that you have the right online presence and communication tools to connect with people successfully. Zieta makes clear sense of the science behind our human nature and offers some great, practical tools to improve your skill set for the new normal.
Last week, NLP Coach – Zieta Olievier hosted an incredibly interesting webinar on her specialty field. In this session, How to Sell you Business Online – Getting Started we learnt how NLP can be used to impact our Clients and Candidates and how to use this knowledge to build your online business.
Here is a quick overview of what we covered and you can watch a recording of the webinar too.
What is NLP?
Neuro – The mind which processes our experiences via the 5 senses.
Linguistics – The language through which our perceptions are coded, ordered and given meaning.
Programming – The ability to identify and use the programs in our neurological system to achieve desired outcomes.
By understanding the NLP of our clients and candidates, we can more successfully communicate with them, on their level of understanding, to more effectively guide them through your recruitment process. Using these tools you can improve your placement rates and foster loyal long-term relationships.
How do you use it online?
The KLT Factor – Know You, Like You, Trust You
Know You:
Online users are bombarded with information and therefore must make snap subconscious decisions about the content they see online. Bearing this in mind, the first step is to ask yourself what first impressions you are making with your social media.
Within the first 5 seconds of looking at your social media profiles, you want to ensure that you check all of these boxes:
Like You:
The next step is to get these online users to like you. Studies have found that people need to see you at least 8 times before they will start to interact with your brand online. The more often you share things which help people to get to know you, the more quickly they will grow to like you. Communicate directly with your target market and tailor your message and the help you are offering, to them specifically.
Trust You:
Trust is built on 2 things:
- Integrity, which means you do what you say.
- Competence, which means you can show evidence of results
Your online content needs to show that you have these two things in order to build trust with your audience. Testimonials are a great way to demonstrate your competence.
As you continue to follow this recipe consistently over time you will begin to build a following of people who are really interested in your offering and with whom your content really resonates.
What should you be sharing?
In terms of the medium of your posts and content:
- Ensure that your content type is stimulating (video is the best option) and that it is an appropriate fit for the platform you’re using.
- Stick to your brand colours consistently and make your posts visually appealing.
- Show your face and let people hear what you have to say ‘in person’. This will help to build trust.
Share content which educates your audience and inspires them to think about your topic or area of expertise in a new way. Don’t tell your clients and candidates what they already know, rather share helpful updated information.
Don’t worry about making all your posts perfect. It may be better to just give a quick snapshot of your real life. This will make you more relatable to your audience.
Have patience!
By persevering and following this strategy consistently and conscientiously over a long period of time, you will be building a strong client and candidate base which will one day explode in success, much like compound interest.
