Happy FriYAY!!
It’s official! If you’re reading this, it means you’ve managed to stay sane till the end of the hard lockdown. It feels as though we are finally at the top, looking down hill at easier levels to come.
We had a good laugh around the office this week when one of our team members (we won’t name any names) asked if he could put in a few days leave to spend in the office, just to have a break from being at home! The bad news is, no one is escaping quite so easily but there are definitely some exciting new freedoms for us to focus on and enjoy.
We’ve put together some ideas for how you and your family can celebrate Level 4 safely and within the rules:
1. Start the day with a nice long family run, cycle or walk OUTSIDE!
One of the developments which we’re all likely to be most excited about is the fact that we can now leave the house to enjoy some exercise. Just make sure you stay within a 5km radius of your house, between 6 and 9am every morning. Bear in mind that you’ll have to exercise in small groups so, perhaps keep it to just the family for now. Dust off your bikes, get the dogs on a leash and enjoy the fresh air.
Here is a link to a map tool for finding out where your 5km radius can take you!
2. Order your favorite TAKE AWAY for a special celebratory dinner!
For those of you who are also sick of your own cooking by now, this is wonderful news. It also presents a great opportunity for us to support local businesses and start breathing life back into the economy at a grassroots level.
3. Get your nest READY FOR WINTER!
We now have permission to stock up on winter clothes, blankets and heaters so even if you are on a tight budget (as I’m sure we all are!) be sure to treat yourself to at least one thing which will bring you some warmth and comfort in the coming colder months.
4. Seeing as you MUST WEAR A MASK, make it amazing!
The sale of materials needed to make masks has been cleared too and we’re under strict orders to wear a mask whenever we’re outside so this could be a fun project to keep your kids busy. It’s also a great way to spread a bit of cheer to everyone you meet.
